The yoga and activity holidays are hosted at La Roane in South West France which whilst being peaceful and secluded, is well located...
This is the easiest and most comfortable way to get to La Roane. Our local airport Toulouse is only one hour's drive away from La Roane. There are regular flights to Toulouse from most major UK airports.
From Gatwick - Easyjet, www.easyjet.com
From Heathrow - BA www.britishairways.com
From Bristol - www.easyjet.com
From Edinburgh, Leeds, Belfast, Newcastle and Manchester - Jet2, www.jet2.com
From Dublin - Aer Lingus, www.aerlingus.com
The budget airlines bring out their 2014 schedules around September/October 2013 and prices are much cheaper if you book as soon as the schedules come out.
If you are coming from the South East, book on the early morning Easyjet flight from Gatwick. If you book early, prices are around £90. It means an early start, but you will arrive at La Roane in time for lunch and an afternoon siesta.
I offer a £60 (£30 each way) TAXI SERVICE from Toulouse airport to La Roane on the day the course commences, returning you there a week later (£45 return for 31st May and 6th September).
However I cannot guarantee to be ready and waiting for every single flight. For the taxi service to work, I must have 2 or 3 passengers in every taxi. I will always meet the morning Easyjet flight from Gatwick but cannot, for example, promise to meet the BA flight from Heathrow unless there are at least two people on it. If you are on your own, you will either have to pay for a special taxi (£70), come by train or wait for my next taxi. I will always send a taxi to meet the afternoon Easyjet flight from Bristol but these passengers MAY have a short wait for other planes from e.g. Birmingham and Edinburgh to arrive.
N.B. For courses starting between the 30th June and the 26th August, an afternoon Easyjet flight is available.
TRY TO GET A FLIGHT THAT ARRIVES IN TOULOUSE BEFORE 6 PM.
As you exit customs, look out for our friendly taxi driver who will be holding up the “La Roane” sign, probably Philip or Fiona (see The Resident Team). Don't rush by! Have a good look around. If you don't locate our driver then our point of last resort is the cafe opposite Budget Rentals. Its not a very big airport and we have never lost anybody yet!
You will be informed of precise pickup times a few days before departure.
In mid-summer Ryanair www.ryanair.com operate flights from Stansted to RODEZ at a more convenient time of day than the Easyjet flight. It is a 90 minute drive from la Roane. A taxi from Rodez airport to La Roane will cost £80 but this can obviously be shared if there is more than one person in the taxi. Please inquire for further information about this option .
Ryanair also operate flights to the town of CARCASSONNE from Stanstead, Liverpool, Glasgow (Prestwick), Leeds/Bradford, E. Midlands and Dublin. Carcassonne is just under 2 hours from la Roane. There is a train service from Carcassonne to our local station of Caussade, Tarn-et-Garonne (see www.voyages-sncf.com or contact me for train times). For more information see below. I don't operate a regular taxi service from Carcassonne but can organise a taxi to meet you (and any other participants) for £110.
Some people prefer to come by train. You leave early in the morning from St Pancras on the Eurostar, ride the metro across Paris, and take the Toulouse train from Gare d'Austerlitz. Get off 2 stops before Toulouse, at Caussade Tarn-et-Garonne, which is a 15 minute drive from La Roane.
If you are coming ALL THE WAY to La Roane by train , then the taxi ride is on the house! (both ways).
Alternatively, take the TGV from Gare Montparnasse in Paris to Montauban-ville-bourbon and from there, take the connecting train to Caussade. This latter option is usually more expensive and saves very little time.
You can also travel via Lille instead of Paris. At Lille you simply change platforms, thus avoiding the metro journey across Paris. However this option is only really available on the outward journey as the home journey starts too early in the morning.
For train times within France see www.voyages-sncf.com To find out about trains from the UK, try www.raileurope.co.uk (insisting that you are going to Caussade, Tarn-et-Garonne, two stops before Toulouse on the direct Paris/Toulouse line
You can also drive here. La Roane is about 10 hours from Calais

The transfer to connect with the early morning flights leaves from. La Roane at around 7 a.m. the following Saturday. Those with afternoon or evening flights can either take the early morning taxi and spend the day exploring Toulouse or else take a later transfer, usually around 2 pm.
The usual things: suntan cream, a book for the plane (quite a good selection of books in our library), insect repellent (normally very few mosquitos ), a torch for night walks (although we do have several torches ), a fleece or sweatshirt for cooler evenings, an outdoor towel (older towels are available should you forget) and some euros (there is a cash machine in St Antonin, where we will be going on Sunday morning).
Yoga mats, yoga props and indoor towels are supplied.
